We’re excited to welcome Robert Cacho to Kira’s engineering team. Robert brings experience from AWS and early-stage startups, and he’s jumping in to help us build the unified, AI-native platform that helps teachers teach computer science and AI with confidence.
Tell us a bit about your background—what brought you to Kira, and why did this opportunity resonate with you?
Robert: I graduated four years ago. I worked at AWS for two years building at large scale. After that I dabbled in the startup world, which I really enjoyed because it let me experiment, move fast, and see direct impact. I’m excited to help advance Kira’s vision and continue learning along the way.
Why we’re excited: Robert’s mix of scale experience and “ship fast, learn fast” energy is a great fit for the way we build for educators.
What are you most excited about as you start your journey here?
Robert: I’m most excited to build and have a real impact here at Kira.
Where that shows up: From teacher workflows to student learning experiences, Robert will be hands-on across features that educators feel immediately in their classrooms.
What’s something interesting or unique about yourself that your new colleagues might be surprised to learn?
Robert: My family has lots of chickens, quails, and bees, so we never really run out of eggs or honey lol.
How do you see your role contributing to Kira’s mission of transforming education through AI?
Robert: I think Kira's mission of transforming education with AI is great, and I'm excited to contribute by building features that teachers and students will genuinely enjoy using.
In practice: Thoughtful, classroom-ready tools that save teachers time and support student thinking.
When you’re not working, what do you love doing? Any hobbies, interests, or passion projects you’d like to share?
Robert: I like nature and often go hiking when I can. In my free time I like tinkering with coding projects, and I'm kinda always on the hunt for good food spots to try :)
Role: Software Engineer. Superpowers: Systems thinking from AWS plus a builder’s mindset from startups. What he’ll tackle first: Teacher workflows and AI-powered feedback that reduce busywork and give students clearer guidance. Why it matters: One connected platform means fewer tabs, faster insight, and better support for every learner.
Welcome to Kira, Robert. We’re thrilled you’re here and can’t wait to see what we build together for educators and students.
