Q&A with Alexandra

Tell us a bit about your background—what brought you to Kira, and why did this opportunity resonate with you?

What drew me to Kira is that combination of big ambition and a truly meaningful mission. I’ve spent the last decade scaling recruiting for fast-growing, tech-forward companies. Most recently, I was the first TA hire at Semasio (a contextual advertising platform), where I built the Talent Acquisition function from scratch across North America and EMEA.

What are you most excited about as you start your journey here?

I’m excited to meet the team and understand how everyone works together. I’m looking forward to bringing in our next wave of talent and helping define how we hire. What should the candidate experience feel like, and how do we make the process energizing internally too?

What’s something interesting or unique about yourself that your new colleagues might be surprised to learn?

I once backpacked Asia for six months. Aside from vaccines and visas, the only plan was a one-way ticket to Delhi—everything else we figured out on the ground.

How do you see your role contributing to Kira’s mission of transforming education through AI?

If Kira’s mission is to transform education through AI, then my role is to find and hire the exceptional team of operators and builders who will make that possible.

When you’re not working, what do you love doing? Any hobbies, interests, or passion projects?

I’m a big fan of taking random classes—anything from a cheese tasting at Murray’s to “Fragrance Appreciation” or “Bog Bodies of the Iron Age” at the Brooklyn Brainery. I also love heading to the 92nd Street Y; they host an incredible range of speakers. One of my favorites was seeing Anthony Bourdain interviewed by David Chang.

We’re thrilled to have Alexandra shaping how we attract and hire great people at Kira. If you’re passionate about empowering educators with practical AI, keep an eye on our open roles and say hello to Alexandra along the way.
